Showmotion ™

ShowmotionTM :  Transforming the way human movements are evaluated and measured

Show Motion™ is a revolutionary tool that provides a comprehensive analysis to monitor motion patterns and related muscle activity.

Through the use of inertial platforms and validated protocols for upper and lower limbs, Show Motion™  is the perfect tool for measure, record, segment, compare and report movements and provide a visual representation of the variables involved, highlighting underlying information and permitting an in depth analysis of the movement in real time.

Showmotion™ allows you to:

  • Observe the evolution of the treatment over time
  • Correlate the results of treatment to expected outcomes
  • Identify alterations in movements
  • Identify compensatory strategies
  • Provide biofeedback input to understand and teach correct movements
  • Objectively understand the effectiveness of the treatment
  • Evaluate and compare treatment outcomes

Every parameter is stored in the data-base providing support for clinical decisions.

Showmotion™ is the perfect tool to observe and evaluate:

  • UPPER LIMB KINEMATICS (shoulder, elbow, humerus, thorax)
  • LOWER LIMB KINEMATICS (hip, knee, ankle)
  • RECOGNIZE SCAPULAR DYSKINESIA
  • GAIT ANALYSIS

How it works?

With Showmotion™ Functional analysis is simple and totally guided, no expertise is required.
Place the sensors – move to perform a short calibration – the evaluation begins
The data is transmitted, analyzed and saved – completing the session all in 10-15 minutes

Applications:

The data collected in each Showmotion™ session is used to scientifically identify normal and pathological movements. It also allows you to:

  • Measure and objectify the patient’s kinematic data
  • Generate data to support clinical decisions
  • Generate kinematic analysis reports for the upper and lower limbs
  • Evaluate and observe scapular dyskinesia
  • Use for gait analysis
  • Collaborate and communicate with the rehabilitation team for better management and control

Showmotion™  is an ideal tool for clinical research.  There are several studies being published using data collected by the use of Showmotion™ technology. NCS lab will collaborate with your clinic for writing and implementing specific protocols as well as to provide statistical reports.

Showmotion™ software performs an accurate evaluation of the patient’s current condition before and after therapy both for orthopedic and neurological treatments.  Showmotion™ records motion related data and establishes a common language for therapists, doctors and patients to communicate  a consistent and objective message during rehabilitation.

This allows to:

  • Measure and objectify the patient’s kinematic data
  • Generate data to support clinical decisions
  • Generate Kinematic Analysis Reports of the upper and lower Limbs
  • Evaluate and observe scapular dyskinesia
  • Use during gait analysis
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team for better management and control

Showmotion™ provides support to:

  • HELP TO OPTIMIZE PATIENTS’ MOVEMENTS: with a real-time avatar display there is a powerful bio-feedback application that provides awareness of their movements and to the correct motor gesture.  The patient can compare their movements to favorable movements in real time.
  • GENERATES CLINICAL REPORTS: Provides clinical reports containing information about specific clinical situations and any alterations found. The data is stored and can be compared to previous session allowing you to have full control over the patient’s clinical evolution.
  • ACCIDENT PREVENTION: It is possible to have full view of any pathological evolution of the subject over time. Each session’s data is stored and can be used to compare during future therapies.

Showmotion™ is the ideal technology to observe the performance of any sports activity.
Through the kinematic analysis it is possible to capture important movements for the management of the physical condition and for preventing stress related injuries.

It is possible to observe and identify the quality of  movements related to speed, acceleration and orientation. The kinematic analysis can be performed in the field, without the need for a dedicated environment.

Data captured in the field is stored in the data-base and available for the coaching and physician staff in order to manage  training and for optimizing results.

It is possible to determine important information about:

  • Alteration of the scapular rhythm during exercise
  • Proper execution of exercise and improving of the athletic movements using the bio-feedback tool
  • Monitoring the physical condition of the athletes

Purpose: Comparison of the clinical evaluation between three different techniques for cuff repair (Pure Transosseous, Augmented Transosseous, Transosseous-equivalent)

Follow up: Pre-op: 3 months post-op, 6 months post-op, 12 months post-op

Clinical Protocol: At each follow up, a kinematic shoulder analysis is performed with SHoW Motion during the execution of five different movements: humeral flexion-extension, humeral abduction-adduction, humeral intra-extra rotation at 0° and at 90° of abduction and an exercise for evaluating the integrity of the subscapularis muscle

Analyzed Features: Scapulohumeral Rhythm, Range Of Motion of Humerus (flexion-extension, abduction-adduction and internal-external rotation) and Scapula (protraction-retraction, up-down rotation and anterior-posterior tilt)

Expected Output: Investigate the compensation strategies in function of the adapted surgical technique by quantifying and scoring the statistical features
