NCS Lab sfida i ghiacci e il vento dell’Alaska
Alaska 2019 Ski Walking Winter Expedition è la prossima spedizione del progetto Alaska Adventures che attraverserà il Canada e l’Alaska durante il temibile inverno polare, ripercorrendo le vie della corsa all’oro del Klondike, per un tratto sugli sci con slitta al traino sulla neve e per un altro tratto a piedi con la slitta al traino su ruote.
Perché la slitta?
La scelta della slitta da trainare è motivata, oltre che dalla validità tecnica per il trasporto dei materiali e viveri, anche per emulare i mezzi a disposizione dei pionieri di fine Ottocento e la traversata in solitaria del 1997.
NCS è sponsor della spedizione in qualità di fornitore dello scafo delle slitte laminato in carbonio progettato dagli studenti del “Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dei Materiali” dell’Università degli Studi di Trento.
Domani, 6 dicembre 2018 Marcello Fantuzzi - Technical Director & President e Andrea Vecchi - Laboratory Manager, prenderanno parte alla presentazione ufficiale del progetto:
Saranno percorsi circa 1300km in 50 giorni sfidando il freddo, il ghiaccio sottile, le escursioni termiche e....gli orsi grizzly!

NCS Lab challenges cold ice and winds of Alaska
Alaska 2019 Ski Walking Winter Expedition is the next expedition of the project Alaska Adventures which will cross Alaska and Canada during the frightful polar winter. Following the roads of Klondike gold rush, the expedition will be partly on skis which will tow a sled on the snow and partly on foot with the sled towed on wheels.
Why a sled?
The choice fell upon a sled both to transport materials and basic supplies but also to emulate the limited possibilities available to pioneers at the end of the nineteenth century and their lonely crossing in 1997.
NCS is sponsor of this project as provider of the hull and also of the two sleds laminated in carbon fiber designed by students of the Department of Material Science and Industrial Engineering of the University of Trento.

The challenge will be 1300 km long for approximately 50 days facing cold, thin ice, temperature variations and....grizzly bears!
